It is easy to describe Village Harmony as a touring camp for musical teens and adults who have an interest in world music, choral exploration and performance. What is more difficult to describe is the sheer power of the music they create—the exuberance and honesty and ultimate musicality of their performances, which regularly make audiences cry, laugh, whoop and applaud wildly.
This is our first "best of" compilation of Village Harmony, from the sessions of the summer of 1999. It distills the essence of what makes Village Harmony unique, but beyond that, it makes for really good listening.
